'RHOA' Could Be Getting a Major Casting Shakeup for Season 16

The Real Housewives of Atlanta hasn't even aired its Season 15 reunion, and by some accounts, there is already blood in the water down in Georgia. News began swirling on the internet Tuesday morning that Season 16 could be in for a major casting shakeup, although Bravo hasn't substantiated any such reports. After the entire Real Housewives of New York City cast was replaced for their most recent season, some began to wonder if executives could be eyeing other lagging franchises for similar lineup changes. With Season 15 of RHOA getting middling reactions from fans, it's plausible that the cast could be on the chopping block.

Since Season 15 hasn't finished airing (and Season 16 hasn't started filming), we have yet to hear anything official from Bravo about the show's future cast. However, a source told ET that a "major shakeup" is coming to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

"Before the women filmed their recent reunion, they were told that they should expect a big change with the franchise moving forward," the source told the outlet. "They hinted at a reboot like New York got, but it also could be moving forward with only a couple of the current stars. The cast is on edge about their future and has no idea where the network plans to go. Although their ratings are still strong, the network is listening to fans and their desire for a change."

A second source, however, told ET that Bravo hasn't made any decisions about the cast of Season 16 just yet. So we could see a complete return of the Season 15 cast, a whole new cast or some variation in between.

Since Season 16 hasn't been cast or filmed yet, we do not know when it will begin airing. Spring/summer 2024 would be the earliest it could land on Bravo, but there could be a much longer hiatus, especially if the whole show is recast.

Season 16 will most likely air on Bravo with episodes arriving on Peacock the next day. That's how all the current Real Housewives franchises air, and it would make sense for RHOA Season 16 to do the same.
